CPD: Ever wondered how to be appointed to the Bench, a Board, or Tribunal?
The Hellenic Canadian Lawyers Association (HCLA) together with the Canadian Association of Black Lawyers (CABL) hosted a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session on Thursday March 6, 2014 on how to be appointed to the Bench, a Board, or Tribunal. The CPD session provided an opportunity to hear from HCLA and CABL members that are leaders in the legal community about the appointment process. The session featured a panel that included the following lawyers and adjudicators:
The Honourable Justice Donald McLeod - Judge, Ontario Court of Justice
Joanna Carroll - Justice of the Peace Appointments Advisory Committee (JPAAC)
The Honourable Madam Justice Ntoukas - Administrative Deputy Judge, Toronto Small Claims Court
Jeanie Theoharis - Member of the Social Justice Tribunals Ontario, Landlord and Tenant Board
Frank E. Walwyn - Judicial Appointments Advisory Committee (JAAC); Advisory Committee on Judicial Appointments for the Province of Ontario
Both the HCLA and CABL are excited to be collaborating on this CPD. If you are interested in the CPD session, please RSVP to Stephanie Voudouris at email@example.com.
